Pam’s story

Pam and her family moved to Acton in 1993. The importance of community has been a central theme throughout Pam’s life; she and her husband raised two daughters in Acton.

Community Organizer

For most of her life, Pam has called Massachusetts home. She attended college in Chicago, and while there, Pam began a career as a community organizer, bringing people together to advocate for municipal and state policies to support senior citizens and low-income residents.

Nonprofit Leader

Pam and her husband returned to Massachusetts, where Pam received her MBA from Simmons College, and continued her lifelong career supporting mission-driven organizations. She recently retired as the Executive Director of the Federation for Children with Special Needs, a statewide organization dedicated to supporting families of children with disabilities and building bridges with schools, health care organizations, and other community resources. This experience solidified Pam’s skills in (1) creating a sense of belonging, (2) developing agreement among diverse constituents, and (3) fostering transparent leadership.

Massachusetts Civic Engagement

Running for Acton’s Select Board is the next step in Pam’s decades-long civic engagement. For the past 10 years, Pam has served the Town of Acton as the town’s representative on the Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical High School (aka, Minuteman Regional Vocational Technical High School) School Committee; Minuteman provides strong educational options for Acton students and families.

Pam also served as a member, and chair, of the Massachusetts Women’s Political Caucus, advocating for increased involvement of women in politics. She chaired the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women under Governor Weld.  This experience built on Pam’s ability to bring together people with diverse points of view and beliefs.

Ready to listen, learn, and lead

With decades of experience building partnerships, navigating complex issues, and bringing people together, Pam is prepared to serve Acton with steady, thoughtful leadership. She looks forward to partnering with residents, listening deeply, and working together to ensure that Acton remains a welcoming, vibrant, and inclusive place for everyone.
